youth voices for digital rights

The Youth Voices for Digital Rights programme was designed to bring young people into discussions that shape today’s digital environment. The programme offered participants the opportunity to learn how internet governance processes function and how to contribute to policy discussions in an informed and structured way. By the end of the programme, the group produced a Youth Manifesto on Digital Rights and presented multimedia and multilingual projects that reflect their priorities and observations on digital governance.

burnaby community assembly

The Burnaby Community Assembly was a broadly representative group of 40 Burnaby residents, selected through a civic lottery, who will help shape Burnaby’s Official Community Plan. Over the course of six months, the Burnaby Community Assembly met to learn, hear from experts and community voices, work through trade-offs and create recommendations for Burnaby’s new Official Community Plan.

The Toronto Island Park Master Plan builds on established city-wide, downtown, and waterfront policies and initiatives to deliver a comprehensive strategy for managing the park. The plan presents a vision for the evolution of the Island and a framework for immediate and longer-term decision-making with an emphasize on enhancing the visitor experience without erasing the unique identity and spirit of the place.

The Youth Action Lab was a one year co-creation lab for grassroots youth activists based in the global south which works to support their movements to become more resilient and sustainable in their pursuit of a more equitable world. The Lab was an innovative, safe, active, inclusive, collective, representative and connected space, online and physical for grassroots activists, which thoughtfully considers diverse contexts and ecosystems to better resource them to flourish with their communities.
